Monotype is an amazing method for me because it allows me to convey my ideas in an immediate fashion. Still there are surprises which are associated with the texture of the paper, ink itself and the variations in the printing itself. The story behind these images can only be interpreted and not told in words.

What will be Left?

These prints are intended to encourage the viewer to consider a future without most of the things we take for granted, such as snow, certain species of birds, butterflies and bumblebees.  I depict each of these “absences” in one single drawing.

Floating Tales / Allegories Series

These are prints of imaginary people with no definite time and place, not even a hidden meaning.

Waiting Rooms

“Waiting Rooms” depict people in isolation waiting. One part of the print is the inside the other is the outside they arent able to access. I was inspired by Albert Camus’s The Plague where people, during an epidemic, were walking recklessly on the streets waiting for something that they didnt know what.

Overwritten Scripts Series

“Overwritten Scripts” emphasizes the inequality that exists based on socio-cultural norms rather than Islamic principles. The descriptions of each print can be found in the digital portfolio of the series.
